A WOMAN who was warned she might never have children is now a single mother of twins, after falling pregnant from a one-night stand while on vacation.
Doctors told Monica Dylan, now 42, that she had a very low number of ovarian follicles, meaning a big drop in fertility, so she had resigned herself to being “over the hill”.
But Monica, from Medway, Kent, defied the odds to become the mother of her daughters Athena and Luna on January 7.
She was on a Mediterranean cruise with her friend Anita Bristol, 38, when she conceived her children.
Speaking exclusively to Fabulous Digital, the retail manager said: “One night, I spent hours chatting with a man I met on the cruise, who was beautiful and elegant, and I couldn’t ignore the spark between us.
“One thing led to another and to my surprise we ended up having sex.

“We had had too many drinks, the reason we hadn’t used birth control.
“Looking back, I knew it was silly. But, at the same time, I was excited when I realized that I could have a baby.”
Upon returning home, she mistook morning sickness for post-motion sickness.
Monica said: “I hadn’t been home very long when I started to feel weird. I felt dizzy, like I was still in the sea.
“I looked up my symptoms online and self-diagnosed myself with post-motion sickness, which is apparently quite normal after a cruise.
Monica was shocked to discover that she was expecting not one, but two babies.
“When the nausea didn’t go away, the possibility of being pregnant crossed my mind, but I knew it was unlikely.
“I bought a test to rule it out and was shocked when I saw the second pink link appear on the device.”
Monica always wanted to have children and she had separated from her previous partners because they did not feel the same way.
She thought she had hit the jackpot with her last boyfriend, until he changed his mind and said he didn’t want a family.
