Doctors in India have been left shocked after a baby was born with a ‘horn like structure’ instead of legs.

The little one was born in Manpura Primary Health Center, in central India’s Shivpuri district, and is thankfully in a stable condition.

You can see footage of the newborn below:

Doctors at the Manpura Primary Health Center immediately referred both the baby and the mother to the Shivpuri District Hospital, where the newborn will be kept under the supervision of specialist care.

Doctors in the Special Newborn Care Unit (SNCU) of the hospital are providing around the clock care for the little one, who was born weighing just 2.31lbs on 26 August.

The prevalence of birth defects in India ranges from 61 to 69.9 cases per 1000 live births, with more than 1.7 million children born with birth defects every year.

These include congenital heart defects and neural tube defects, as well as chromosomal abnormalities such as Down syndrome.

In other parenting news, we recently told you how a family in Nottingham experienced a one in a million miracle after welcoming baby twins Ayon and Azirah – who have completely different skin colours.

Chantelle, 29, and Ashton, 29, were left gobsmacked back in April when their son Ayon was born with white skin and green eyes, while his twin sister Azirah has dark skin and brown eyes.

This type of birth is so rare that genetics experts have estimated there’s only a one in a million chance of it happening – making Chantelle and Aston’s family pretty special!

Chantelle, an auxiliary nurse, explained that although she looks white, she’s mixed race due to having a Nigerian grandad on her mum’s side. Meanwhile, her husband Ashton is half Jamaican and half Scottish.

While twins Azirah and Ayon looked similar when they were born at Nottingham City Hospital, Chantelle noticed as the weeks went by that Azirah’s skin kept getting ‘darker and darker’.
